Sundays, East End Style

When we first moved to Portland we lived in the West End and really loved it. I honestly thought we'd never leave that side of town. It came as a surprise to even me when we decided to move way over to the East End with it's quirky ways, bright colored houses and general uniqueness... but the more time I spend over here the more I am just loving the charm of this side of town. No better way to experience the charm of the East End then with a Sunday stroll to the Promenade and lovely brunch at one of Portland's best eateries.
Here's a tip, there is always a wait at The Front Room. Tip number two, it's always worth it. At 11:00 am our wait was quoted at an hour. No worries, we just strolled across the street to the Hilltop Cafe to grab a coffee to enjoy while we waited. The brunch at this Room is a great mix of favorites and some originals too. The last time I had brunch here I was delighted by the gnocchi eggs benedict. This time I decided to try somethin' else.
Beloved bloody mary goes without saying...
Side of fruit and huevos rancheros for me
Man-friend enjoyed corn beef hash of course...
My gal pal Allie just moved to the East End too. Welcome to town girl! She enjoyed this veggie omelet.
From the top of the hill you can see all of downtown Portland! Best view in town, where else but the East end :)
